(5) From Argentina to Patagonia
with Frank Butler
February 1st
Since Lake Titicaca I've crossed the Andes from Peru to Argentina with the Dakar Rally, and moved on to Uruguay—more rain—on the way to Brazil and the Iguacu Falls.

I have just left Buenos Aires where I picked up new tyres, a chain and sprockets, rebuilt the front shocks and fitted new brake pads..now I am good to go. I will spend a few days here in Mendoza looking around....it's mostly wine country.
Then I will cross back into Chile and head for Santiago and start the arrangements to get Beem on a plane or a ship, then we will take a quick whizz down to Patagonia and back up, and catch a flight to Sydney.
Thats plan number 1.... the other is to go stay on a farm in San Rafael and do some work and catch up on the website and other stuff for the PNG project...I will have to wait and see what happens there...

Pictures on the way to Patagonia and back - 1
The story starts in Puerto Monte, Chile, where I boarded the Navmag ferry for a cruse for four days and three nights through the Patagonian Fjords. It always rains and the clouds are always low.
The glacier from the boat is Paio X1 which the ferry diverts for if the weather is good
